Lysosomal Membrane and Protein Stabilization by Dalbergia Sissoo (family: Fabaceae): in Vitro Anti-inflammatory Activity
نویسندگان
چکیده
Objective: Plants of the genus Dalbergia are reported to be useful in the treatment of arthritis, gonorrhoea and rheumatic pains. Present study was aimed to investigate the in vitro anti-inflammatory activity of ethanol extract from Dalbergia sissoo leaves (EDS) and to support its traditional use. Methods: EDS was investigated for it's in vitro anti-inflammatory activity in human red blood cell membrane stabilization (HRBC) method and protein denaturation method. Diclofenac sodium was used as the standard drug. Results: The EDS and diclofenac sodium showed a concentration dependent stabilization toward HRBC membrane with 314.3±0.01 and 34.91±0.01 μg/ml; 50% protection, respectively. EDS and diclofenac sodium also showed dose dependent protein denaturation with IC50 Conclusions: EDS possessed noticeable in vitro anti-inflammatory effect against the HRBC membrane stabilization method and denaturation of albumin. Further authoritative studies are necessary to make certain the mechanisms and constituents behind its anti-inflammatory actions. values 719.9±0.04 and 428.4±0.02 μg/ml, respectively.

Anti-Inflammatory Activity of Ethanolic Leaf Extract of Dalbergia Sissoo In Vitro and In Vivo
Dalbergia sissoo Roxb (Indian rosewood) is an important tree species belonging to the family papilionaceae. It is a medium to large‐sized, gregarious deciduous tree, attaining a height up to 30 m and a girth up to 2•5 m in a favorable climate (sub‐tropical and tropical zones). According to Champion & Seth [1], the Shisham tree is a characteristic species of Khair-sissoo (Acacia catechu‐Dalbergi...

Dalbergia sissoo and Azadirachta indica are commonly known trees of India. They belong to family leguminoseae (fabaceae) and meliaceae respectively. They are broadly used in folk medicine for several diseases. The present study is carried out on biochemical parameters i.e. on content of protein and glycogen with standardized method in liver and kidney of Sprague-dawley rats. Due to combined ext...

A method has been developed for plant regeneration by encapsulation of somatic embryos obtained from callus cultures derived from semi-mature cotyledon explants of Dalbergia sissoo Roxb. (family Fabaceae). Embryogenic callus was developed from cotyledon pieces on Murashige and Skoog (1962) medium supplemented with 9.04 μM 2,4dichlorophenoxyacetic acid and 0.46 μM kinetin. The somatic embryos we...

BACKGROUND Dalbergia sissoo DC. (Family: Fabaceae) is a medium to large deciduous tree, is locally called "shishu" in Bangladesh. It is used to treat sore throats, dysentery, syphilis, bronchitis, inflammations, infections, hernia, skin diseases, and gonorrhea. This study evaluated the antinociceptive effect of the methanol extract of D. sissoo leaves (MEDS) in mice. METHODS The extract was a...
متن کاملAnti-inflammatory Activity of Ethanolic Extract of Dalbergia Sissoo (roxb.) Bark
The possible anti-inflammatory activity of a 90% ethanolic extract of Dalbergia sissoo bark was studied in a model of inflammation using a right hind paw oedema method in Wistar rats. One percent carrageenan in 0.5% sodium carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) was administered through the sub-plantar region of the right hind paw of the animals. CMC was used as a suspending agent because it does not pro...
